For a customer who found this book online after buying the excellent book by the author of hypoglycaemia. When you have low blood pressure all my life, I was suddenly diagnosed with severe hypertension (165/105) and before I knew I was leaving the doctor's office with a prescription in hand and warnings of stroke and stroke, heart (29). The pharmacist was very concerned that someone so young to take the medication and told me it could cause a potassium deficiency and suggested an addition. The next day I took the prescription drug (hydrochlorothiazide) for breakfast. Within an hour I had the most dazzling head of my life (I have migraines, and this was worse than a migraine that I did not think was possible), my eyes would not focus, I was going dizzy, nausea. I spent the next several hours is seriously ill until my stomach was completely empty, finally, at 5 pm, I went to bed completely exhausted. The next day I picked up this book and read on hypertension / high blood pressure. I had the most (but not all) of the recommended supplements on hand. I called the doctor's office to let them know that I was incapable of taking the medication and scheduled the following appointment first - six days into the future. I started the supplement program recommended (I have), with the rest of the order. I also started walking 20 minutes a day. I have amended and supplemented, as suggested my diet. When I returned to the doctor six days later, my blood pressure was 138/90. It took five times during the next hour (both arms, and with several different blood pressure cuffs) to ensure that it was a case of some sort. I explained what I had done, and could not find any fault in the board, given the results. Instead of another drug, she told me to keep doing what I do and come back for another one month to read about my first reading was severe hypertension, the improvement was so great that it is mild and I hopeful that it will be even better in a month. Now I have some more of Dr. Murray (and his colleague Dr. Pizzorno's) books, and each is worth 10 times the price. The advice is clear and well written, nor provided you have a medical degree (as some books seem to) or you're an idiot (which summarizes most of the rest). When I received "Dr. Murray natural alternative to over the counter medications and," I looked to hydrochlorothiazide. Although the fact sheet with recipes had not nausea, vomiting, headache and blurred vision as potential side effects, did this book. Each symptom was there - and an explanation of why hydrochlorothiazide increased the risk of stroke and heart attack I'll never be another to take prescription medication without consulting these first two books. Highly recommended for all readers. 17 of 17 people found the following review helpful. In large source merrymousies My uncle, who take vitamins for years, recommended this book to me when I asked for a reference that would tell me about vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, as well as some of the non-vitamin / mineral supplements . This book has it all and I love how the set - one for each item that gives brief overview of the vitamin is so, the list of sources of natural food, I was especially interested, give the RDA, benefits and applications. He goes into detail, but not so much that you feel overwhelmed with information. Just enough for me. 11 of 11 people found the following review helpful.
