A customer, this book is very informative and has a lot of great solutions that are easy to make. The list of where to buy herbs are very helpful, plus it gives ideas on where else to look. It's a good book for newcomers to herbal remedies because it lists the types of herbs useful in preventive and curative measures. Generally a great resource for home. 11 of 12 people found the following review helpful. Interesting, but lacks important information Pharmiechick I really love this book. It's pretty organized, and is useful in pairing mode diseases / problems with herbal medicines. It is interesting, and I love the pictures, like many of the beauty products. I have some problems with it anyway. The book contains a list of 50 most common plants, and when the list of safety precautions has many interactions with other medicines, herbs, for example, missing Coumadin (warfarin), as the interaction is treated with willow bark in this book. Warfarin, but also interactions with Ginseng, Dang Shen, devil's claw, garlic (in large quantities) and Ginkgo biloba. Some of these drugs are still in the top 50 in this book, not to mention they can cause problems with warfarin. I think it's a really negative aspect of this book, because people without a pharmacy or medical history may not be aware of such problems, and some do not even know how herbal medicines (which they are!) Consider not know to check interactions or even to see if they wanted. Not another point, the book mentions that the FDA has no guidelines for the purity of herbal products, as it was not for the prescription and over-the-counter medication is. So can not get exactly what you think you are when you buy an herbal product if you use this book, I suggest you ask the pharmacist what brand of herbs suggest, because most of the pharmacists know which brands are most reliable other. In addition, you should always ask your doctor before taking herbal remedies if you are using, and when the pharmacist is your medication history, tell them what they are, too. Just because herbs are natural does not mean they are safe! 10 of 11 people found this review helpful. It 's time that he wrote a book about herbs for a client to understand the only thing I like most about this book is that it covers everything! Not only that the grass is supposed to do for you, but the side effects .... that the FDA has to say, think what MD, clinical studies. I like the way the book was out! Search by topic!
