Herb Monographs - allow the health professional to consider the best evidence to support the use of herbs in maintaining health or in treating conditions. Supplement Monographs - provide substantive and well-referenced information on the use of dietary supplements in maintaining health or in support of condition management. A comprehensive Cross Reference Guide is also included which offers the user easy and targeted access to the required information.

Micozzi, MD, PhD From the Publisher This valuable information product has been developed by Integrative medicine Communications, a company founded by people with a wealth of experience in professional and consumer publishing and information management, serving the continuing needs of modern health care providers. We strive to be the recognized source of high quality and scientifically sound information integrating conventional medicine with safe and efficacious complementary and alternative therapies. In developing Quick Access, we undertook to build an information base that would allow health professionals from various educational and philosophical backgrounds access to a complete armamentarium of approaches used to maintain health, treat disease, or mange conditions. Building such a reference requires a respect for the evidence to support the use of conventional and non-conventional therapeutic modalities, and the ability to utilize the talents of advisors, researchers, writers, fact checkers, proof readers and project managers in synthesizing the information into a tightly formatted and well-balanced final work. We are quite proud of this work and look forward to updating, adapting and expanding it for the ongoing needs of those in the front lines of health care delivery. From the Inside Flap Quick Access Professional Guide presents essential, accurate, practical, referenced and formatted information. Whether it be with conditions, herbs, or dietary supplements, health care providers can be assured that each monograph reflects a consistant organization and scope, aiding the initiated user who requires a quick review of the facts or the uninitiated user who seeks an overview of the subject matter. We sought first to achieve breadth of coverage, then depth of coverage as space allowed, as each monograph is designed to fill just a few printed pages. Professional Access will serve as a quick review of therapeutic options, from various schools of healing and health promotion, for those health professionals looking for science-based information support.

Pharm review By A Customer There are several excellent texts to search for information on alternative therapies and herbal preparations. Of course, the German Council books are the "bible", and I would generally default to the information gathered there. However, this text and the "Professional's Guide to Alternative Therapies" are both good, useful guides for someone with a solid grounding in pharmacological principals. The latter text is somewhat more succinct. Both guides are more accessible to patients as well, and make for good in-house reference texts. See all 1 customer reviews...
